Hearthstone Blessing

'On this right and ready hour,
We call upon the age-old power..

East and west, south than North,
Ancient ones we call you forth..

Bless this hearth, bless this home,
Keep all who gather round this stone.

Hide this sack of deep black coal,
As we add the warmth of fires old.

Salt and stones, keep safe & sound,
This witches charm is now bound.'

Portable Altar/ Spell Box

I practice magic on my roof top & in the wild some times and I found I needed a portable/collapsible altar, that could clean up fast & easy.
Here is what I came up with. Find an old shoe box (from boots is great) big as you can find. Cover it in fabric and stuff with magickal or astrological herbs, glue fabric to cover top and bottom of box,(they must remain separate). Or, you can paint your box, adding magical symbols etc. Next take 4 cloths pins and paint "Runes" or magical symbols on them. Fill box with "tools", and cover. To set up the "Altar, simply take the cover off the box and place the four clothespins in each corner of the box top and flip over. You should now have a standing "Altar" and the bottom of the box holds your "tools", you can easily work out of it. Clean up is fast and you can hide your "Magic" box anywhere . It is also said that when you work from the same box over and over it gains powerful personal energy..You can also buy a "magic" box AKA "Spell box", But its more powerful if you make it your self..

Amulets, Tailsmans & Burnt Offerings

For those who wish to master the art of magical achievement, there are numerous occult aids which may be of value. Some of these tools are amulets, charms, symbols, talismans & Burnt offerings. These are objects inscribed with a magic incantation or sign that stands for or suggests something else by reason of relationship, association, convention or accidental resemblance-a visable sign of something "invisible". They are worn carried or burned to avert harm, ward off misfortune, protect against danger, insure fortunate events and attract love, luck and favorable conditions. A great many of these mystical symbols have been, or can be, made into parchment paper talisman commonly known as a seal. Belief In the powers of these talismanic seals has been traced through the ages-perhaps the primitive man's cave paintings were done to assure a successful hunt, deter danger, or secure a mate. Ancient magic for modern times, seals add a POWERFUL punch to ANY spell or ritual.

Calling Your Lover To You

Ritual Rain Water for City Dwellers

In most cites, March & April are months of much rain. If you are a city Witch and don't live near a stream or river and still want sacred water for rituals & spell workings try this.

Clean a wide-mouthed jar or bowl ( I use a crystal bowl that's wide & deep ) I add stones, crystals and sea shells to the bowl as well. Adding the elements of each stone to the rain water. Set it outside during a rainstorm. When bowl is full, remove smaller stones & crystals. Strain Rain water through a coffee filter and transfer water to special bottles sealed with a tight lid, or cap. Do not drink the water. Label each bottle as to the contents, the Moon phase & date it was collected. If you don't use the water within a year, pour it into your plants. When you have finished with the bottles of rainwater, take them to your altar. Leave the bottles there until the Full moon.

On the night of the full moon, place nine white candles in the same crystal bowl that you collected your rain ( dried out of course) and filled with salt ( I use sea salt )about 1/3 full, place candles to forma circle on your altar, with the bottles of water inside the circle. . Light the candles . Burn a smudge stick or frankincense incense and wave the smoke over the bottles to further purify them, and chant nine times;

" Full Moon Goddess anoint this rain,
power and goodness it shall gain. "

Leave candles burning until they burn out. This sacred water can be used for sprinkling around the edges of ritual circles, blessing & cleansing other tools, stones, and in spell workings...
